You may have heard from your child about our missing gnome Gnorm. It's big news here in the MacWands' classroom and throughout the school! Last week Gnorm was itching to get back to his forest home and asked to be brought back to the forest. He let us know it was okay to hide him in a new place and he thought it might be fun to move him about the forest to different hiding spots each time we visited. The idea of this excited us so we took him out for a walk. While we were busy poking at a decomposing log and rolling logs looking for salamanders, Gnorm disappeared. Jodie thinks she caught a glimpse of him rolling off in the leaves down the path. Once the children heard this they were off with their sticks turning over leaves and calling out for our dear friend. It was priceless. There was no teaching after that - they just wanted to search for Gnorm. Sadly, we did not find him. We decided to make Lost signs to put up in the hopes that we would find him.
