The MacWandsons’ have been busy. Lately we have been
exploring different types of art. We started with self-portraits and learnt all
about the face. We used mirrors to help us find just the right spots to put our
eyes, nose and mouth along with choosing the right colour for the painting. Students used a variety of brushes. The large
brush was used for the big shape of the face while the smaller brushes were
used for details. We think they look fabulous!
The next art exploration we embarked on was sculptures. Students were given the task to create a
sculpture out of rocks, Plasticine, buttons, and pipe cleaners. Our students
have been very creative, they have made cars, animals, snowman, and even a cup of hot
chocolate was designed.
We also had another visit from baby Maya. Students had the
chance to see how she is developing. They were thrilled to find out that she
now looks when her name is called. We also had the chance to talk about the 5
senses. Students were able to tell us what they were and why they are
important. They found out that baby’s put a lot of things in their mouth in
order to discover the world around them. The student’s found it funny to think
that they used to do this too.
