- Please bring back report card envelopes so they can be used for next term
-Wednesday wear pink for bullying awareness day
-Please send JK's borrow a book back on Monday's (Students can keep the books for a whole week to read at home)
- If you are interested in ordering Scholastic please bring back the forms by the end of the week.

Blast off into Outer Space

Hello Everyone,

There is great excitement in the room as we explore outer space! We are learning new poems, designing a rocket ship, creating a galaxy out of paly dough and marbles and creating stories about space on "my story" with the ipads. All of us are loving our new unit and are excited to learn new facts. Ask your son/daughter to let you know something they have learnt today.

Chinese New Year

Today we had a special presentation about Chinese New Year. Students heard a story about the traditions and events that happen during this 10 day time period. Both classes enjoyed being together and learning new and exciting facts. Ask your son/ daughter what they learnt today.

Space Exploration

Hi Everyone,

We will be starting a unit on Space. We would like to build a big spaceship for our students to explore and play in. If you have any big boxes that you could donate to our spaceship we would love to have them. Please bring them in as soon as possible or any other trinkets that would work.

Valentine's Day

Hello Everyone,

We had a wonderful day full of activities and fun celebrations!

As a class we came up with words that Valentine's day meant to us. Our students made some great connections and really showed some great feelings about what this day meant to them.

This was a great book about two unlikely friends. It was a true story. Ask your son/daughter to retell it to you. It was a touching story.

Students were making hearts with Plasticine. They were using their fine motor skills to spread the clay out over the heart. They looked fantastic!

The two classes had a wonderful time watching a short movie and having some chips.
It was a great day.

100's Day

Hello Everyone,

Today we celebrated being at school for 100 days. Throughout the day we did a variety of activities that had to do with the number 100.  For music they sang 100 day songs and during exploration they explored many centers that were all based around the number 100.

 
 

We used 100 cups to build structures and visually see what 100 looks like.





We used 100 tiles to make designs and pictures with our Geo Blocks.
 





Using a die and beans students rolled their way to 100. They worked hard to fill their sheet.

Busy Times

Hello Everyone,

We just wanted to post some pictures of your hard working students. We are in full swing getting ready for Valentine's Day!

Our students at big blocks were being Super Hero's and saving the world!

 

Our students are working on their writing and reading. They are learning about animals and what they do in the winter. We have spent some time learning about hibernation and migration.

 

This is one of our favourite activities (Goop). It is both a solid and a liquid.
