Catch a Leaf!

Today we took a blustery walk in the forest.  We listened to the wind in the trees, watched the branches sway and explored the forest floor searching for leaves with different attributes (size, shape, colour, etc).  We picked our favourites and shared them with a friend.  The highlight of our walk was playing my all-time favourite fall game of "Catch a Leaf".  The goal is to catch a leaf before it falls to the ground - one point for every catch!  (No shaking trees!)  The giggles, howls and shrieks were awesome! (I think Ms. MacDearmid said I was the biggest kid...)  We'll be back next week to see if the leaves are farther along and play again.  The forest is alive with things to discover.
